"It is not the healthy people who need a doctor, but the sick.... I did not come to invite good people but to invite sinners." [Matthew 9:12-13]
God didn't look at our frazzled lives and say, "I'll die for you when you deserve it." No, despite our sin, in the face of our rebellion, he chose to adopt us. And for God, there's no going back. His grace is a come-as-you-are promise from a one-of-a-kind King. You've been found, called, and adopted; so trust your Father and claim this verse as your own: "But God shows His great love for us in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners" (Romans 5:8). And you never again have to wonder who your father is - you've been adopted by God and are therefore an heir of God through Christ (Galatians 4:7)
My gosh, how come most of us never thought about it this way? How come most of us never claim that we ARE an heir to God's Kingdom? When I read this, He just spoke to me saying that it is time for me to rise up and claim the promises that He has for my life over 2008! As I am awaiting a new contract from my boss these 2 weeks, I believe that God will have He's favour upon my life and let my boss come up with a deal that I cannot resist! This means everything this year (well, not really. but you know what i mean). It means how much money I get to spend on gadgets, how much shopping I can afford, and how many mission trips I can afford to go on this year. How much camera equipment I can afford, and so on. Not to mention how fast I can clear all my depths!
If you guys is reading this, I want you guys to seriously start walking in His promises and living like an heir to God's Kingdom! (And do pray for me for favour upon my contract!)
mmm that cake looks fantastic!!!
Hmm, I definitely agree with you, that we have been ADOPTED as heirs...which is pretty fantastic, seeing that there is nothing innate in our human selves that could cause God to be compelled to give the life of His Son for us...
but simply because we are heirs to His kingdom doesn't mean that God will bless us financially while we are here on earth... i mean, the Christian walk is compared to a cross which must be taken up... yikes!
these are good musings :)

@Lydia: Thanks for your comment. I understand what you are saying, but I believe that if God gave us a promise, and we proclaim it and walk in Him day in and day out, It's gonna happened. Doesn't have to be money in that sense, i mean, financial blessing can come from someone paying for your meal, your air fare, your car petrol. I've seen it happen, and i believe it's gonna bhappen even more this year! =D
